About Us
Uniquely Different is a jazz band from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
Established in 2004, Uniquely Different began as a duo with Jashaun, the saxophone player, and Richard, the keyboard player. The duo successfully played at private events, wedding receptions and various church functions.
Realizing their success, the dynamic duo expanded the group into its five current members in 2008. Rounding out the group is Chris, the guitar player, Rob, the bass guitar player and Tauvares, the drummer. As soon as this group played together, they credited it as one of their "greatest divine experiences."
Once they went off to college their talents grew exponentially, and being exposed to various genres and styles of music. This opened their ears and minds to think "outside the box." Their talents continue to grow individually and collectively.
Thinking "outside the box" led them to create a different style with a very unique flair, hence the name, Uniquely Different.
